We cry, we laugh, we love, we hate and we JUDGE. The knack of judging is impediment to what we achieve.
Did you notice yourself passing statements without even remotely aware about a person and later on finding out just the opposite? Have you ever doubted your girl/boyfriend, on her/his closeness with a friend of opposite gender, for infidelity and then repenting how stupid you were? Did you say the other day ‘all cops are corrupt’ while during 26/11 many cops lost their lives to save your skin? Do you believe Bihar is one of the least developed states of India, which is absolutely wrong as per facts? Do you believe all terrorists are Muslims while you always ignore LTTE and terrorism in Punjab?
These are a few examples surrounding us. A large number of people have been committing these mistakes for ages. Einstein was judged as a person ‘who can never learn mathematics’. Sehwag was judged as a fad due to lack of his technique by commentators. A little classic, but Sita was also judged and made to go through fire for her stay in Lanka.
Moving forward to making judgment about people, it is important not to judge a person on the basis of a standalone incident. Just to illustrate, a judgment of morality violation against tourism minister of Pakistan, Nilofar Bakhtiar on hugging a man after her paragliding ride. Does that make her low on morality?
There needs to be a conscious effort to come over the inclination and suppressing the power of Judgment without facts, impressions without details which more often than not will either lead to become a barricade to the relationship or force a correction in our judgment of a certain person.
